Vive la Trashumancia and 5th Artisan Cheese Fair

From May 23 to 25, Valverde de Leganés is once again holding one of its most unique festivals, the 13th Edition of Vive la Trashumancia and 5th Artisan Cheese Fair. A festival that undoubtedly honours the figure of the shepherd and the customs of the transhumant trade and has been declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest.

During these days, Valverde offers a wide programme of activities for residents and visitors, including tastings, cooking shows, workshops and an interesting Round Table that will feature the presence of prominent personalities from the livestock world. On the morning of Sunday 21, you cannot miss the transhumant route that will begin with the traditional shepherd’s breakfast, with some good Extremadura crumbs.

But this is not all, as in every great fair, it will also have a large multi-sector market where, in addition to the most select cheeses from all over Spain, you can find a variety of crafts and enjoy them in its canteens. Don’t forget to try the craft beers and grilled lamb. And since there’s no party without music, you’ll also find concerts and musical performances that are completely free.
