XIV Experience Transhumance and Artisan Cheese Fair

“Experience Transhumance and the Artisan Cheese Fair” is one of the most representative festivals of Valverde de Leganés, declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest. This event celebrates the tradition of transhumance, a centuries-old practice in which shepherds guide their flocks over long distances in search of better pastures. Although this custom might seem to have fallen out of use, it has experienced a resurgence in importance in recent years as an essential element of Spain’s Cultural Heritage.

The festival not only pays homage to the shepherds and the transhumance tradition but also includes the Artisan Cheese Fair, which showcases the region’s rich gastronomy.
